Convention Meeting
Still, it did save us a bunch of money. We arrived by bus, another cost saving, and the kids piled out of the bus first. I had some trouble getting out of the narrow stairs from the top level of the bus, until I noticed that the hand rails were adjustable, I called down to the bus driver and he helped me move the rails apart. (They were about 10 inches apart, and there was just no comfortable way to go down the stairs without being able to move my legs past one another.)
We got the kids checked in and were about to escort them up to their rooms before the first set of meetings, when I heard a familiar voice calling my name. N was there. She was being "fake nice" as she used to put it, but it was obvious that I was the last person she'[d hoped to see at this conference. I introduced her to J. They sized one another up for a bit and I made my excuses and interjected myself into a luggage kerfuffle, not so much because I was needed, but to get away from the two women. I figured J would debrief me on what she discovered/thought when we got settled into our room.
