On Fire
The mom from the apartment across the way jumped the balcony and attacked us. I don't know why. We fought her off and she collapsed on the bed. My guest ran away at that point.
I went out onto my balcony to find that the apartment across the way was being emptied by my in-laws. They were taking all the stuff out, but leaving the one year old ginger striped kitten behind. I asked what was going to happen to the poor frightened kitten, and in response my brother in-law’s wife picked up the cat and leaned him out over the balcony, where he jumped over to mine.
When I turned to look at him, the bed in my apartment was swirling in a pillar of flame, with the woman who'd attacked us standing in the center. The cat cowered at the edge of the balcony. I went to pick him up and put him back on his home balcony, but that apartment was on fire, too. I picked him up and took a deep breath, planning to run past the pillar of fire and out my front door.
As I entered my bedroom, though, the mom-thing turned into a ghoul (like in WoW) and leaped down off the burning bed at us. I was glad the kitten was tucked into my shirt and didn't see it coming at us.
